GMB Welcomes 15 Years For Gunmen Who Shot Security Guard

GMB welcomed the 15 year sentence handed down to the gunman found guilty of shooting GMB member Colin Baker last year during a raid on Nationwide bank in West Bromwich.

GMB is suing Colin Baker’s employer Securicor, the bank and the garage where the raid took place for compensation for the personal injury Mr Baker received.

Martin Hird, GMB Senior Organiser who is looking after Colin Bakers case for personal injury compensation said, “Unfortunately there have been more security worker shot since the attack on Mr Baker. Mr Baker is relieved and pleased with the 15 year sentence his attackers have received. GMB welcomes it too and continue to work with security companies, the police and the banks to try to stop the continuing attacks at all levels of ferocity on our members. Villains and employers can rest assured that GMB will prosecute anyone who injuries GMB members at work.”
