GMB Reaction to High Court Decision on Security Industry Watchdog's Right to prosecute unlicensed Firms

GMB has welcomed today's High Court decision gives the Security Industry Associastion (SIA) the all-clear to launch criminal prosecutions as part of its supervisory role.

Gary Smith, GMB National Secretary representing GMB's thousands of security industry workers said, "GMB welcomes the High Court's ruling and congratulates the SIA on guarding the hard won legislation. It makes the industry and especially the smaller security companies, accountable under law and it's it often the smaller firms that drive down terms and conditions across the industry because of the way they do business."
